Justin Recla on Unlocking Superpowers and Making an Impact

Entrepreneurship is about unlocking your inner superpowers and making an impact. It's about being courageous enough to grab an opportunity and follow your gut. It's about being gritty enough to make your idea a reality.

When you help others, it comes back to you. That is the concept of Karma. It does not matter what culture you are from. Apply the idea of karma and watch what unfolds in your world.

Meet our guest

JUSTIN RECLA has 14 years of experience in the fields of tactical questioning, surveillance, counter espionage, threat and vulnerability assessments and investigative techniques. He developed standards for these specialties while working for the US Army and government defence contractors abroad.

Justin is a communications expert and an educator, teaching hundreds of future government agents how to conduct subject interviews, source interviews, and report on investigative functions. He brings his skills from the military sector and delivers them to the boardroom to help business owners protect their two most valuable assets: Time & Money.

He is the operations director for the Superpower Network. With listeners in over 90 countries and over a 2.5million downloads a month, the Superpower Network is the #1 Podcast Network for inspired personal development.

A summary of our conversation

Justin's message is very simple. Help others, do things better, and have self-dominion in everything you do. Take control of your own life. Justin and his wife Tonya are both former counterintelligence agents with the US government. They ended up teaching a counterintelligence Special Agents course in which they trained new agents. Tonya is part of the top 1% of agents that have testified in a Federal Court on an actual espionage case.

What a lot of people do not understand about counter intelligence is that one must be able to understand oneself and others. One must understand why people do the things they do, as well as why they don't do other things. One must also have an understanding of fear, religion, faith, and ego deconstruction, among many other things.

The military asked Tonya to write a class on critical thinking so she did. Over a year and a half, both Justin and Tonya taught it to about 4000 agents. In the midst of that, they recognized that the information that was brought forward was much bigger and it needed to be shared with the world and so set out on the path to becoming entrepreneurs.

Know your superpower

Nobody, in Tonya or Justin's family, generations back, was an entrepreneur. It was one of the scariest things ever but they continued to listen, kept the guidance that was given and the forward momentum.

What started as a corporate counterintelligence business led to a coaching practice. They started coaching CEOs and COOs on everything they taught counter-intel agents and helped people deconstruct their thoughts so they could get to the truth of how it all works. So, they can go out and be a creator in the world and not a consumer. Those are superpowers!

"When you focus on the impact, the money comes. When you focus on how much you can charge, you limit your impact"
Making an Impact

It's vital to understand that everything happens for a reason. In the spiritual realm, there are no victims; there are only opportunities to get to the core of our consciousness. More people are beginning to see the power in exploring their consciousness and of remaining creators in their world instead of being consumers.

Today we are seeing a hopeful trend in the business and entrepreneurial world. Hopeful, because the old way of doing business is fading. The old goal of the business was to make as much money as you possibly can. What is happening today is that there is more focus on impact. Overtaking profitability. When you focus on impact, the money will follow.

In an instant, things can change so the strategy should always be about authenticity, transparency, and love. That is the foundation of who we are and what we do. Creating programs and opportunities that invite everyone to participate. Even when life is good, it can change in an instant. If you are not prepared, your business could be gone in a day. The goal of entrepreneurs is to grow and learn from their experiences. They should not only be concerned with making money, but also with what they are learning and growing as individuals.
"You can actually create a whole new reality for yourself, if you just shift what frequency you're surrounding yourself in"
A few best practices

1. First is recovery. Recovery is recognizing that you don't have to go, go, go all the time because it is important to take time and recharge. Take time to unplug and set boundaries around your work life. Set up rules for how much you will do at a given time and learn to step away. Reflecting on what has happened rather than do, do, do which every entrepreneur gets caught up in.

2. Next is to take your time and stick to a routine. You do not have to jump into the workday right when you wake up. Do some reflection on the previous day. Does your workday need some tweaking? If you don't address it, then the energy from the previous day will carry over into that day and build up, and you can not create from that space.

3. Finally, it is gratitude. Gratitude is the magic sauce of all things, the secret to unlocking abundance in your world. When you are grateful for everything you have, the universe will give you more. If you are not satisfied with what you have now, what makes you think that if you had more, you would be satisfied? Take a look at what you have in life and recognise that at the end of the day, you do not need much. You are probably better off than 99% of the rest of the world and if you want more, you have to appreciate what you have and get rid of the things that no longer serve you.

Everyone has a superpower that can be used in both professional and personal settings. You have the power to help others, get ahead of others, and make an impact on the world around you. If you know what your powers are, you can use them to succeed at anything.
